Our 2 year old son, Jarrett, has been attending Hope Lutheran ELC since May 2010 and Jarrett loves being there, and his parents love him being there! Jarrett's teachers are wonderful and truly care about each child. Jarrett had Cerebral Palsy and requires some special help and his teachers are more than willing to help him. At the end of the day when I pick him up, he always tells me "I have fun," and it brings a smile to my heart. As a working mom, it brings me much comfort knowing that our son is in an environment where he can have fun and is well cared for.
We have had our two kids at Hope for the past year and could not be
happier with the progress they’ve made in their development, learning,
and social skills. The two things we value most, however, are how the
staff strives to embrace the idea that parents have the primary
responsibility for teaching and raising children and that theirs is a
supporting (but critical!) role, and most importantly, that every day
they are reinforcing our efforts to encourage our kids to one day
embrace the Christian faith. We give Hope our strongest endorsement!
We first ended up at Hope because it was the only place that had a space (and was spotless clean), but we quickly realized it was the best place in Manhattan! Never did we doubt that our daughter was well taken care of and loved. Frida loved her teachers and I knew that her teachers loved her. They teach kindness, were open to topics of diversity, sensitively dealt with her peanut allergy, and worked on the skills needed for kindergarten. I loved the parent-teacher conferences and the thoughtful portfolios they kept on her developmental progress. The teachers were always available to consult with and cared about the whole family. After we lived in Manhattan awhile and some new opportunities opened up, we explored other options, but couldn't have imagined moving Frida from the loving atmosphere she was in for any of the others. After Frida "graduated" preschool from Hope, she still talked about her friends there and how she missed them. We were so pleased with our experience.
